'Chop-chop' man identified

THE body parts found in different areas in Benguet were identified to be those of 25-year-old Nickson Lucas, who was abducted by armed men last June 27 in Baguio City.

Police Officer 2 Voltaire Aoay said the wife and mother of Lucas helped in identifying the victim.

Lucas was abducted by still unidentified armed men around 11 p.m. of June 27 at Rizal Park in Baguio City. His unnamed companion identified the getaway vehicle of the suspects, said Police Inspector Paul Mencio.

The victim's family reported the incident to the police at 2 a.m. of June 28.

Around 4 a.m., the police received reports that chopped body parts of a male victim were found in Burnham, Hilltop, General Luna Road and at Poblacion, La Trinidad.

Mencio said the family provided limited background information about the victim, who is said to be a native of Kilometer 5, Tuba, Benguet and was a resident of Buyagan, La Trinidad.

He said the family has not returned to the police station after the victim's identity was known.

Benguet police are still investigating the incident, Mencio said. (Rimaliza Opiña)
