DepEd Pampanga gets new vehicles from Capitol

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Governor Lilia Pineda, together with Provincial Administrator Andres S. Pangilinan Jr., led the turnover of two service vehicles for the Department of Education (DepEd) Pampanga Division Office at the Capitol grounds on Wednesday.

As stated in the records of the General Services Office headed by Engr. Olimpio Pangan, the said vehicles – an SUV, and a multipurpose vehicle – are worth P1.94-million.

Dr. Leonardo D. Zapanta, Pampanga DepEd superintendent, lauded the governor for her unwavering support and described the event as another blessing for the division.

According to Zapanta, one will be his service vehicle and the other will be used by the education program supervisors and public school district supervisors in monitoring and supervising schools.

Zapanta also shared that he has been in the service for two decades now – two years as the province’s superintendent – and has witnessed Governor Pineda’s programs for education during this period.

"The governor's support to DepEd and our programs is overwhelming. She has been dedicated in providing for the needs of Kapampangan students, even when she was still a mayor, and more so now that she is the governor," Zapanta added.

Under the Pineda administration, the provincial government has allotted a total of P283 million for the construction of 354 classrooms for public elementary schools and 121 classrooms for public high schools in the last five years.

"We are more than satisfied with the support given to us by the provincial government. Whether it’s a repair and renovation of old classrooms or construction of new school buildings, they are all of utmost quality," Zapanta said. (Angelique DC. Tuazon/Pampanga PIO)
