Davies-Bacolod gives painters' kids school supplies

AS PART of its social responsibility, Davies Paints Philippines Inc.-Bacolod branch has shared some of its blessings to deserving children of its painters by providing them the much needed school supplies.

Prior to the school opening, supplies were given to 200 children enrolled in various public schools in the province of Negros Occidental.

Arch. Armando B. Guevarra, Davies' business development manager for the Visayas and Mindanao, said he thought of the activity as their own way of helping the low income painters' lessen their financial burden, especially during school opening.

This is the first time that they provided the free school supplies under the "Back to School, School Supplies Assistance" program of Davies Paints Philippines Inc.

"We saw the need to give the school supplies and we're glad that, through this simple generosity, we made the children and their parents' happy," Arch. Guevarra said.

He said the painters are usually the low income members in a construction work. Painting jobs are needed when the construction is completed.

Arch. Guevarra said he will also implement the program in some of the areas under his management so that many painters and their children can avail of the company's little generosity. (CNC)
