2 hog traders robbed in Sirawan

TWO hog traders were robbed by three unidentified men in Barangay Sirawan, Toril district, Davao City on Tuesday morning.

The victims were identified as Edgardo Lim, 49, a resident of Barangay San Antonio, Agdao, and Amelito Olden, 38, a butcher and resident of Barangay Duterte, Agdao.

According to Senior Police Officer 4 Isidro Templa of the Toril Police Station, the victims were on their way to purchase hogs at around 11 a.m. Tuesday when they were robbed.

Taken from the men was cash amounting to P115,000. The victims told police they just handed the money to the robbers for fear of getting hurt.

Lim and Olden said the men fled onboard a motorcycle with no plate number.

Police recovered an improvised handgun with no bullets at the crime scene.

Senior Inspector Romeo Abler of the Toril Police Station ordered his men to conduct investigations and identify the men behind the heist.

On the same day, information gathered by Sun.Star SuperBalita from the Talomo Police Station revealed that a businessman was robbed while he was parked at Dencio's Hilltop in Barangay Langub.

Four armed men took the victim's cell phone, camera and other valuables. The men also punched a hole into the victim's tire before fleeing the area. (AD)
