MANILA -- Hubo Productions' "Ganap Na Babae" will formally open the 6th Cinemalaya Film Festival and Competition this Friday, July 9 at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo of the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
This three-part movie is topbilled by veteran actress Boots Anson-Roa, Mercedes Cabral, Sue Prado and newbie Jam Perez. It is directed by Rica Arevalo, Ellen Ramos and Sarah Roxas.
The opening program is set to start around 6 p.m. on Friday and regular screening of the 24 new films will be shown on the following day until the 18th of July.
Meanwhile, the closing ceremony and Awards Night is scheduled on the last day of the festival where trophies and prizes will be given away to outstanding independent filmmakers and entries who joined this year. (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
