THE Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers-Negros Occidental, in celebration of its 40th Charter Anniversary, will hold its annual sportsfest this Sunday, July 11.
Opening ceremonies will start at 9:30 a.m. after the 7 a.m. mass at the UNO-R Oratory and a short motorcade around the city. Guest speaker will be basketball enthusiast, lawyer Goldwyn V. Nifras, the Bacolod City Agriculturist.
Ten participating teams coming from different sugar mills and other industries throughout the province are expected to seek the overall title.
Morning events like basketball, volleyball, chess, tennis, air-rifle shooting and track and field will be played at the UNO-R School Grounds. Bowling, darts and billiards competitions will be held at the Lopue's East Bowling Center. Badminton will be held at the East Side Badminton Courts.
Awarding ceremonies will be held at the East View Hotel where a Divas and Comedy Show will entertain members and guests alike.
Chapter president Engr. Dioscoro P. Marañon Jr. and sportsfest overall chairman Engr. Crisanto Delatina are inviting all PSME-NOC members to come and join the sportsfest. (PR)
