Pontevedra police implement campaign vs 'wang-wang'

PONTEVEDRA Police Chief Argel Ancheta, along with his men, conducted operations along national highways in the town against violators of Republic Act 4136 and Presidential Decree 96 that concern the Land Transportation and Traffic Code.

Ancheta said they have already seized a number of illegal sirens, fog lights, expired and unauthorized commemorative plates during the operation.

In Binalbagan, local police strictly implemented their campaign against the illegal use of sirens, fog lights and commemorative plates through information drives and conduct of checkpoint operations.

In Valladolid town, Police Chief Inspector Alexander Muñoz and his personnel also conducted similar police operations against erring motorists in line with the directive from higher headquarters on the campaign against the illegal use of sirens and against counter-flowing in the town.

Negros Occidental Police spokesman Rico Santotome said they encouraged the citizenry to report violators through the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office's hotlines (09073106888 or 4763205), particularly government offices and vehicles, to include erring members of the PNP.
