Ateneo de Davao plays Ford

HEAVILY-FAVORED Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) and ever-dangerous Ford Academy of Arts (FAA) dispute the solo lead in the team standings of the FilOil Flying V Invitational Junior Basketball Championships at the Gaisano Citimall Skygym Saturday.

The Ateneo dribblers and the Ford cagers, who are both undefeated with two straight wins thus far in Group B, take the floor at 10:30 a.m.

Expected to carry the loads for the Blue Knights under coach Caloy Salvador are Jerwin Jorgensen, Neil John Taculin, John Patrick Pasia and Lancelot Abude.

Ford, mentored by Perig Alicante, will bank on Kendall Claro, Ronnie Marnaga, Alexander Franz II and Keneth June Jucom.

Group A solo leader Emar Learning Center (2-0) likewise seeks its third win against Agro Industrial Foundation (1-1) in the main game at 3 p.m.

Leading the Emar attack are Jhul Ian Elle, Jame Concordo, Carl Patrick Japus and Troy Mascarinas. Agro will rely on the 1-2 punch of Tirso Lesmuras and Juni Aming.

Playing in the second game at 12 noon are the Holy Child School of Davao (1-1) and winless Jose Maria College (0-2) in Group A.

This will be followed by the face-off between two other winless squads Daniel Aguinaldo National High School and Southern Philippines Polytechnic College, both toting identical 0-2 win-loss cards in Group B.

The Reds of Coach Ildie Cunanan will have Ian Flaviano, Jose Remy Morada and Christopher Gavia, while JMC of Coach Nick Serafica will rely on Reb Jonathan Martinez and Ralph Kenneth Dy.

Aguinaldo will be bannered by Aldrin Jay Maralit, Carlo Laurora, John Ray Priete and Alfe Chaleco, while SPPCI will be spearheaded by Jeymark Italio and Jam Averderada.

FilOil Gas Company and Flying V Petroleum are presenting the league sponsored by Powerade, Felcris Superstore, KIA Motors, Stronghold Insurance, Villa Margarita Hotel, Apo Natural Water and Insular Oil Company in coordination with the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.
