MANILA -- Lawmakers lauded the appointment of former Naga City Mayor Jesse Robredo as secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Members of the House of Representatives said Robredo’s competence and experience to supervise local government units will help him when he assumes office at the DILG.
President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III earlier deferred the appointment of the DILG Secretary after failing to choose who among the three candidates were fit for the position.
“We share the President’s high expectations that he’ll make a good DILG Secretary considering his background and track record,” Cebu City Representative Rachel “Cutie” Del Mar told Sun.Star. (Kathrina Alvarez/Sunnex)
