SC, IBP hold forum on small claims cases

GUAGUA -- The Supreme Court and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Pampanga Chapter, in cooperation with the Regional Trial Court (RTC) and the Municipal Trial Court (MTC) of Guagua recently held an orientation and forum on the rules of procedure for small claims cases.

The Phase II orientation was designed for court users and was held at Clarisse Restaurant in Barangay San Pedro here.

Among those who gave and shared their insights were Executive Judge Eda Dizon, Pamela Ann Maxino, and Lyn Ebora-Cacha, all from the Guagua MTC; Presiding Judge Mary Jane Dacara-Buenaventura of the City of San Fernando; Presiding Judge Janice Yulo-Antero of Sta. Rita; lawyers Aramis Benoza and Reydon Canlas of IBP; Vinci Gozun of Floridablanca; and Clerks of Court Juanita Flores and Lord Francis Musni of San Fernando.

The forum took on the various aspects of small claims procedures, including computations for such cases.

For claims less but not more than P20,000, small claims is computed at only P2,015, which includes the filing, summons and mediation fees.

For small claims of less but not more than P100,000, fees are computed at a total of P2,715. (JTD)
