A bar with a view

WHAT started out as a private room tucked at the choicest spot of Jack's Ridge Resort has now become one of the city's finest watering hole.

Tap Room at the Jack's Ridge was formerly named BMW, from the initials of three friends.

"This used to be my rivate music room, tapos I decided to open it to the public," owner Carmelito Mercado says.

After undergoing renovations, a grand reopening was held last July 2 with the ribbon cutting lead by Ombudsman Margarito Valenzuela and lawyer Bal Sarabia while the blessing was officiated by Fr. Paul Cuizon.

Tap Room opens daily from 6 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and has an in-house pianist Roger Eder who plays romantic songs as the twinkling lights of Davao City lay spread in a fantastic view.

The venue is also perfect as function room for birthdays and other special occasions and can easily seat up to 50 people, Mercado says. He adds customers will surely love the recent renovations and upgrading of the sound system.

Now guests can sing-along the videoke as huge TV screens are set up in strategic places at the bar, along with the stereo surround sound.

Among the guests during the re-opening were Judge Salvador Ibarreta Jr., prosecutor Odin Sencio, lawyers Ed Batacan and Alfred Tan, Marie Velasco, Rico Trajano, Boobs Talaver, Toto Labano and doctors Edgar Pulido and Bong Layug.
