Palace to finalize communications group today

MALACANANG is set to reveal the complete structure of the communications group today, Monday, a Palace official said Sunday.

Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said there are some matters that are needed to be finalized before the group could be presented to the media.

"We could announce the structure and the composition Monday," he said.

Among other names that are likely to lead the group are television hosts Ricky Carandang and Manolo Quezon. Sonny Coloma, a former columnist of a business newspaper, was also being considered.

But Lacierda remained mum on the reports.

He also clarified that Maria Montelibano will not be a part of the group since she is a relative of the President.

"Mas mahalaga na maayos ang stucture than those who will compose it," the Palace official said, citing that he will not disclose the enlisted names until it is complete.

The announcement will be made Monday afternoon, he added.

He noted that one of the features of the group is the feedback mechanisms, enabling the public to air their queries via Facebook and Twitter.

Also expected to be tackled by the group is the operations of government stations NBN4, RPN 9 and Radyo ng Bayan, among others.(Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
