Tancontian pockets gold

RAMSY Tancontian struck for 864 pinfalls after four games to pocket the gold medal in the Datba Wekkly Tenpin Singles Tournament at the NCCC Mall B3 Lanes.

Youth Bowler Ray Snyder grabbed the silver medal by hitting 847 pinfalls while businessman Sonny Dimaano salvaged the broze with 824 in the meet organized by the Davao Tenpin Bowlers Association (Datba).

Danny Usman and Paquito Santos placed fourth and fifth, respectively. Usman amassed 813 pinfalls while Santos came close with 809.

The weekly event serves as qualifying for the monthly finals that offers attractive cash prizes and creatively designed trophies for the winners.

The pintopplers, meanwhile, are expected to compete anew in the Datba Lanemasters set to resume tonight.

The twice-a-week competitions organized by Datba also serve as preparation for Davao bowlers seeing action in the upcoming Kadayawan sa Dabaw Open Tenpin Classic where a whopping P50,000 cash prize awaits the champion. (MLSA)
