Police confer PCR awards to partners

CAMP OLIVAS -- Police Regional Office 3 Director Chief Superintendent Arturo Cacdac Jr., on Monday spearheaded the observance of the Police Community Relations (PCR) Month here and conferred awards to outstanding units, private citizens and local government units who have contributed and supported the police.

Dubbed “Matatag na Pagkakaisa ng Pambansang Pulisya at Mamamayan Tungo sa Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran,” the month-long observance is in line with Presidential Proclamation Number 764, declaring the month of July of every year as PCR Month where police and community partnership is strengthened towards the maintenance of peace and order.

Cacdac and the regional PCR division led by Supt. Walter Castillejos cited PNP personnel, police units, local government units and private individuals, who have immensely contributed and supported the conduct of various PCR activities from July 2009 to June 2010.

The Best PCR Unit for Police Provincial Office in the Nationwide Category was awarded to Tarlac PPO headed by Provincial Director Police Senior Superintendent Amador Corpuz; the Best PCR Unit in the City Police Office Category was awarded to Olongapo CPO led by City Director Police Senior Superintendent Oscar Albayalde; the Best PCR Unit Municipal Police Station/Community Police Station Category was awarded to the Mariveles MPS headed by Police Superintendent Romel Velasco, Acting Chief of Police; while the Best PCR Unit CPO-PS Category was awarded to Olongapo City Police Station-Police Station 1 led by Police Inspector Gerald Fernandez, Deputy Chief of Police.

Meanwhile, the Best PCR PCO for Individual Category was awarded to Police Superintendent Elsa Miranda, PCR Officer-Tarlac Provincial Police Office; and the Best PCR PNCO for Individual Category was given to Senior Police Officer II Desiderio Noora PCR PNCO-Aurora Provincial Police Office.

A special citation for the Most Supportive Barangay was awarded to Barangay Balibago, Angeles City led by Barangay Captain Rodelio Mamac while a special award for Most Supportive NGO was accorded the Korean Community in Central Luzon Association Inc. (KCCLAI) headed by Kim Chul Joo; special award for Public Safety Battalion was given to the Regional Public Safety Battalion 3 headed by Battalion Commander Police Senior Superintendent Gil Lebin Jr.; and a special award for Provincial Public Safety Company was given to the Nueva Ecija Provincial Public Safety Company led by Company Commander Police Superintendent Edgar Akubo.
