The CDO Bugsay River Rafting is already existing but bought by entrepreneurs Mike Sia and Jan Micheal Uy, who invested P3 million to acquire six additional rafts and rafting gears required by the Department of Tourism.

Sia said Bugsay hopes to cater to the increasing influx of enthusiasts who want to try river rafting.

"Our first priority is the safety of our clients but we assure that our rafting gears are first class, with 'Sotar' as brand, the same brands used by coast guards for rescue," Sia said.

He added that the Sotar brand is for extreme rafting paired with their 12 river guides who are all members of the international rafting federation and Red Cross certified.

"We make sure that rafting adventure would be a memorable one for our clients as our river guides will make sure that they will entertain their guests and lead them to new discovery," Sia said.

He said their river guides have the ability to handle basic to extreme courses, have knowledge and deep experience in survival and basic life support, and have participated in the world rafting competition.

Bugsay has acquired a small area along the river and called it "Midstop" where clients can have lunch at the same time experience a different view facing the water falls.

While taking their meal, Sia said clients can also try horse backriding or relax at the Midstop.

"We are very conscious of our surroundings as we also share our blessings to other people by giving them opportunity to earn especially the Lumads living in our Midstop," he said.

Sia said Bugsay is giving a special offer to clients through the "Full Moon Rafting" with overnight stay at the Midstop for a night rafting adventure, especially during full moon.

Bugsay is offering a beginners course for a 12-kilometer river stretch with 14 class two rapids and scenic views along the river for an adventure of approximately three hours downstream.

It also offers an advance course within a 16-kilometer river stretch with 21 class three-two rapids and scenic views along the river for an approximately five hours down the river run, which is intended for experienced paddlers only.
