US expert to conduct conditioning seminar

AN EXPERT from the United States will hold the Strength and Conditioning Seminar and Training 2010 on August 9 and 10 in a still undetermined venue in Davao City.

Local coordinator Rael Diaz said Tuesday the seminar, to be handled by Craig Schink, will either be held at the Gaisano South Grand Citimall or at Lifestream International College along Mamay Road.

In a separate e-mail, Athletes in Action (AIA) Davao Sports Movement's Jim Leffew said the free registration event is open to athletes, coaches and PE teachers.

"The seminar will include topics like systematic approach to Plyometric training, agility progressions and quick foot work, dynamic warm-up, sports performance nutrition, weight training progressions, lower body training, speed training, core conditioning, energy system development and myths of strength training," Leffew said.

He, however, said they can only accommodate as much as 300 participants.

Leffew said Schinck is a very credible resource speaker having been the founder of International Performance Sciences and served the AIA for over 13 years. He also had conducted trainings in India, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Spain, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Poland, Sri Lanka, and other parts of the Philippines.

Free handouts, certificates, lunch and certificates await participants. (MLSA)
