Work at executive branch not suspended (8:14 a.m.)

MANILA -- Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda clarified Wednesday morning that employees of the executive branch of the government have to report to work today despite Typhoon Basyang.

Earlier, the Senate and House of Representatives announced suspension of their work schedules for today because of the bad weather. The Supreme Court and Court of Appeals also announced suspension of work.

But House Secretary General lawyer Marilyn Yap said the scheduled 10 a.m. meeting of the members of the secretariat will still push through. They will talk about preparations for the State of the Nation Address of President Benigno Aquino III on July 26. (Sunnex)
