Carnapping suspect nabbed

A 19-YEAR-OLD suspect of carnapping in the City of Bacolod was nabbed Tuesday evening by the members of Police Station 4 led by Police Chief Inspector Danilo Francisco.

Francisco identified the arrested suspect as Alfred Algarme, of Quiaron Street, Greensville Subdivision, Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City.

Francisco said the suspect was arrested at CL Montelibano, Corner Paho Street, Barangay Villamonte, by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Jude Demosthenese Magallanes, of Regional Trial Court, for violation of Republic Act 6539 or Anti-Carnapping Act of 1972.

He said Judge Magallanes fixed the bail in the amount of P180,000 for temporary liberty of the suspect.

He added that the suspect is presently detained at Police Station 4 lock up cell. Francisco also urges the public who were hit of robbery and theft cases in the city to visit the said police station and to identify the suspect as responsible of said crime incident.

Meanwhile, a 23-year-old man was also nabbed for malicious mischief at Narra-Lopez-Jaena Streets, Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City yesterday morning.

Franciso identified the arrested suspect as Roden Sampane, 23, of Purok Bayanihan, Barangay Villamonte.

Francisco said around 1:30 a.m., the suspect was nabbed while the members of Police Station 4 conducting a raid of illegal gambling at Barangay Villamonte, and the suspect bumped the motorcycle of one of the member of Bantay Bayan.

He said when the suspect was arrest the police recovered from his possession one knife which he kept on his waist.

He added that the suspect is presently detained at Police Station 4 lock up cell.
