MANILA – Tropical storm "Basyang" continue to move further away from the Philippine area of responsibility early Thursday, the state weather bureau said.
In its 5 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippines Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the center of the storm was spotted 400 kilometers west northwest of Dagupan City.
Basyang packs maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts up 100 kph.
The weather disturbance is still moving at northwest at 19 kph and is expected to be at 720 kilometers northwest of Laoag City Friday morning. (Sunnex)
