MANILA -- Former Bayan Muna Representative Satur Ocampo and now president of Makabayan group is urging President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III to look into the extrajudicial killings of activists before another life is taken.

Ocampo said Aquino, as commander-in-chief should investigate the killings done in the past administrations and what actions the government took to solve it.

Makabayan said the President appears to have a wrong projection of the systematic killings of activists when he said “Sa kabuuan, hindi na nating masasabi na pang-aabuso dahil sa isang pulisiya ng estado. Marami ho dito, talagang personalang away na eh.”

Seven members and supporters of Makabayan, including a municipal councilor, a human rights lawyer and a public school teacher, have been murdered since after the May 10, 2010 elections. In the first two weeks of the new administration, three activists were slain. (Kathrina Alvarez/Sunnex)
