Police chief lauds guv for support

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - Police Senior Superintendent Petronio Retirado of the Pampanga Police Provincial Office (PPPO) lauded Governor Lilia Pineda for the overwhelming show of support to the local police.

Retirado said the turn of events has boosted the morale of the policemen, which inspired them to unselfishly serve the people, particularly in the maintenance of peace and order in the province.

"Nagpapasalamat ako sa ating mahal na gobernador sa lahat ng tulong na ipinagkaloob niya sa ating kapulisan. Sinuportahan na din niya ako kahit noon pa man mula ng maging Chief of Police ako sa Lubao," Retirado added.

Retirado said that efficiency and effectiveness results to a safe, secure and peaceful community, which in turn has better chances of developing into a progressive citizenry.

Pineda meanwhile believed that the economy of the province will remarkably improve if the local police are on top of the peace and order situation. She said a lot of investors will come to the province if they feel safe here.

"Hangad naming talaga ang lalo pang mapaganda ang ating peace and order," she said.

Pineda, upon assumption of office, decided to give the 20 percent intelligence fund intended for the Office of the Governor to the local police to further strengthen their capabilities in crime prevention.

Recently, Pineda, with the help of some businessmen and friends, donated the necessary funds for the purchase of six police patrol cars and 12 motorcycles.
