THE Watershed Management Coordinating Council (WMCC) and Davao City Water District (DCWD) announced the launching of the Women and Environment in the Barangay (WEB) program.
WMCC president Dominador Lopez, in his invitation to PIA, said the WEB program, to be launched on July 20 at 1 p.m. in Villa Margarita Hotel, Bajada this city, is an offshoot to Women in the Barangay Consultation conducted late last year, in an effort "to formalize the partnership with the barangay women leaders, non-government offices and other institutions."
Lopez said the WEB program is one of DCWD Comrel program that aims to recognize the women leaders in the barangay as partners.
He added this is also in coordination with WMCC and the members of the Women and Environmental Technical Working Group.
During the launching, identified problems in the barangays will presented as well as action plans in 2009 and the 2010 program of activities. (PIA 11/CLC)
