THE M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala-Cebu Niños will take no rest for the next two weeks as they are scheduled to finish their elimination round in Manila and in Cagayan de Oro City, successively.

On Tuesday, the Niños, who won the first and sixth leg titles, will leave for Manila for the Tournament of the Philippines’ seventh leg, hosted by Cobra Energy Drink.

“These last two legs will be crucial for our campaign. We wanted to take the homecourt advantage in the playoffs and we cannot afford to be complacent. As much as possible, we will do our very best in both legs,” M. Lhuillier coach Raul “Yayoy” Alcoseba told Sun.Star Cebu.

Joining Cobra Energy Drink Iron Men and the Niños in the seventh leg are MP-General Santos City Warriors and the Ani-FCA Cultivators.

The Niños currently have the leadership in the group standings with 30 points followed by Misamis Oriental Meteors with 29 points. The next seven teams are Idle Ascof-Lagundi Cough Busters (24), Treston-Laguna Stallions (18), Cobra Iron Men (14) points, Hobe Bihon-Taguig (13), the MP Warriors (12), Ani Cultivators (8) and the Mandaue-Cebu Landmasters (7).

After the seventh leg, the Niños will visit the homecourt of their archrival, the Misamis Oriental Meteors on July 27 to 30.

Aside from earning the needed points, the Niños are also looking to extend their winning streak.

The Cebu squad scored a perfect 21 wins in Liga Pilipinas’ Conference 3 last year and currently scored eight straight wins in the current PBL-Liga Pilipinas tournament, to extend to 29.

On Wednesday, the Niños will be shooting for their 30th straight victory when the Cobra Enery Drink host the sixth leg.
