MANILA -- Malacanang on Monday has defended the appointment of several Abads in the administration of President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.
Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said the Abads, including Budget Secretary Florencio “Butch” Abad Jr., wife Henedina who is a congresswoman of Batanes, daughter Julia in the Presidential Management Staff, and son Luis as chief of staff of the Finance Secretary, are very competent in assuming their respective positions.
“Their qualifications will speak for themselves,” said Lacierda.
Bayan Muna Representative Neri Colmenares earlier expressed apprehensions having too many Abads in the government even more handling influential positions. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
