Amiya golfers lead Dynasty Cup

AMIYA seized the early lead in the 2nd Dynasty Cup, which fired off Saturday at the all-weather Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club in Mandug.

Amiya assembled 239 in the first round of the three-round tournament exclusive among club members--the best ball scramble affair--to produce the day's best score of 20 points.

The best ball scramble, the initial format of the 54-hole competition, allows team members to tee off each hole and then for them to decide which shot they like the best and mark the spot with a tee or ball marker.

The succeeding playing days of the event that has a total of 12 teams will be on July 24 and August 14.

Dream Team of Monchit Mackay finished with a 240 score, which is good for 17 points, trailing the leaders by just three points.

Korean Dream Tem is at third with 16 points, followed by Grupo Verde (15), Tour Jacks (14), Taliban (13), Eagle Master II (12), Korean Red Heroes (10), Eagle Master I (9), Tang Dynasty (8) and Godimashik (7).

Defending champion F.H.M. shot itself in the foot with only 6 points to occupy the 12th spot. (CRAM)
