6 women, man in shabu raid charged

SIX women and a man arrested in separate drug bust operations in Davao City were charged by the City Prosecution Office with violation of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002.

The panel composed of prosecutors Stella Camino, Joseph Mamburam, and Vicente Imbang found sufficient evidences against Barangay 31-D residents Robelyn Remulta, 28, Naima Botocan, 24, Amelita Bayabao, 25, Salazar Bayabao, 28,; and Barangay 76-A residents Marcelita Adin, alias "Inday Hussein," 33, and Pidong Bandera, 57.

The respondents were rounded up in separate buy-bust operations by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Davao Region and Davao City Police Office in a dawn raid on July 10 in barangays 31-D and 76-A.

Confiscated from them were 12.32 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, marked money, and assorted drug paraphernalia.

All evidences were brought to the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory. A test on the shabu by Senior Isnpector April dela Rosa Fabian, forensic chemist, yielded positive result.

The arrested drug pushers chose to not avail of their statutory right to preliminary investigation.

In a different report, a drug suspect was arrested by operatives of CIDG 11 at around 4 p.m. of July 10 in Km. 12, Sasa.

Emani, a resident of Sagrada Familia, Sasa, is reportedly in the police drug list.

He was arrested while handing over a sachet of shabu to a buyer who managed to escape.

rEmani is now detained at the Sasa police station. A resolution has been filed on Friday by lawyer Faizal Padate, Associate Prosecution Attorney 2, recommending him to be charged.
