Pilipinas 25K on Aug. 15

THE Pilipinas 25K International Marathon set this Aug. 15 at the Asiatown I.T. Park will open its registration tomorrow, July 22.

Despite being hounded by criticisms over a scheduling conflict, International Pharmaceutical Inc. (IPI) advertising manager Angel Tito Dela Merced is optimistic they will have a share of interested runners to compete in their event.

“We have so much to offer with our top finishers,” dela Merced said

The top 25K men and women finishers will bag P25,000 plus a trophy. The 1st runner-up will win P15,000, 2nd runner-up with P10,000, 3rd runner-up with P7,000. The top six to ten placers will receive P5,000 each with medals.

In the 25K men and women executivec classes top 10 finishers will receive medals and certificates.

The 10K top finishers in the men and women will be receiving 5,000 a piece while in the 5K division will be receiving P2,000.

“We already have coordinated with department of tourism on how we can assist our possible influx of foreign runners,” said dela Merced.

Dela Merced said they may hold the event yearly and in key cities in the country.

Registration for international runners is pegged at $20 in the 25K category, while local runners’ registration in the 25K is P350, P250 for the 10K category and P200 for 5K.

Registration will run from July 22 to Aug. 12 at the Cebu City Sports Center. For more inquiries, contact Pilipinas 25K International Marathon Officers Daria and Ann with contact numbers 415-8039, 412-7772 local 136/176.
