CAGAYAN de Oro City Mayor Vicente Emano recently approved the adoption of a new rerouting scheme to harmonize the flow of traffic for public utility jeepneys (PUJs) plying the Pier-Macabalan-Cogon "BC" and "RB" routes.
Emano issued Executive Order No. 005-2010 upon the recommendation of the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA), which was agreed by the officers of the affected transport groups after a series of meetings and consultations.
The revised inflow and outflow routes are as follows:
* Pier-Macabalan-Cogon Route "BC" (affecting 35 units under Malcoda)
Inflow -- from origin passing Julio Pacana St., turn left to Corrales Extension, turn left to Gaabucayan St., turn right to West peripheral road of Agora Market then turn left to South peripheral road, turn right to Valenzuela Avenue, turn right to Recto Avenue, turn left to Limketkai Avenue, turn right to LKKS Drive towards Justo Ramonal St.
Outflow - turn left to Capt. Vicente Roa St., turn right to Yacapin St., turn right to Velez St. towards Julio Pacana St. and proceed to destination.
Pier-Macabalan-Cogon Route "BC" (affecting 57 units under PODSTCO and individual operators under Malcoda)
Inflow - from origin passing Julio Pacana St., turn left to Corrales Extension, turn left to Gaabucayan St., turn right to West peripheral road of Agora Market then turn left to South peripheral road, turn right to Valenzuela Avenue, turn right to Recto Avenue, turn left to Limketkai Avenue, turn right to LKKS Drive towards Justo Ramonal St.
Outflow - turn left to Guillermo St., turn right to Yacapin St., turn left to Capt. Vicente Roa St., turn left to Hayes St., turn left to Osmeña St., turn right to Justo Ramonal St. towards LKKS Drive, turn left to Limketkai Avenue, turn right to Recto Avenue, turn left to Valenzuela Avenue, turn left to Gaabucayan St., turn right to Corrales Extension, turn right to Julio Pacana St., and proceed to destination.
However, the rerouting of 57 units plying the Pier-Macabalan-Cogon "BC" route shall be amended as soon as the on-going road improvement project along Julio Pacana St.-Puntod Kauswagan Bridge is completed.

To ensure compliance with designated routes, each PUJ is required to install identification marker duly noted by the RTA in order to serve as a control measure. (PR/CIO)
