Fisherman shot dead

A 43-YEAR-OLD fisherman was shot dead Tuesday evening at Purok Paghedait, Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City, the police said Wednesday.

The victim was identified as Rogelio Saroza, of Purok Paghedait, Barangay Tangub, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds on different parts of his body.

Police Station 8 chief Inspector Placido Gentoleo said that, around 8:30 p.m., the victim was shot by the suspect who was identified as Ramon Gasataya, of legal age and a resident of the same place.

The victim was immediately brought to Bacolod Adventist Hospital for treatment but was declared dead upon arrival while the suspect immediately fled after the incident.

Two empty shells of 9mm ammunition were recovered in the scene of the crime.

A 22-year-old man was also injured in shooting incident in Barangay Bata, Bacolod City Sunday evening. Police records identified the victim as Mark Anthony Sorallo of Suntal Village, Taculing, Bacolod City.

The police said that, at around 9:39 p.m., the victim was shot by the suspect who was identified as a certain alias "Paki" of Barangay Bata. The victim sustained a gunshot wound in his right leg and was immediately brought to the hospital for treatment.

On the other hand, a 33-year-old man was injured in a hacking incident at Barangay Estafania, Bacolod City Tuesday evening.

Police Station 4 chief Inspector Danilo Francisco identified the victim as Juno Bitonga, of Purok Pag-Asa, Barangay Estafania.

At about 9:30 p.m., the victim was hacked by the suspect identified as Jinky Javelona, 31, the victim's sister-in-law, because of a misunderstanding. He suffered hack wounds on his face and shoulder while the suspect is presently detained at Police Station 4 lock up for the filing of charges.
