Pacquiao to train in Manila

FILIPINO superstar Manny Pacquiao will do most of his training in the Philippines for his upcoming ring return rather than at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood.

Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum said his ward will be training in Manila for his Nov. 13 return so he won’t disrupt his duties in Congress.

“He would not come to the Wild Card (in Los Angeles) to train until three weeks before the fight,” Arum said in a report posted at the ABS-CBN website.

Pacquiao is a congressman of Sarangani Province.

Instead, trainer Freddie Roach will be coming over to the Philippines, just like their preparation for the fights against Marco Antonio Barrera and Miguel Cotto, where they trained in Cebu and Baguio.

Pacquiao will probably be training at the Wild Card Gym in Parañaque, owned by the late Rod Nazario, Pacquiao’s former business manager.

As of now, Pacquiao has no opponent, but Arum is working on either Antonio Margarito or Miguel Cotto.

Pacquiao is gunning for his eighth division world title.

The venue of Pacquiao’s next fight would either be in Abu dhabi, after the United Arab Emirates royal family expressed its interest in hosting, or Mexico.
