SHARON Cuneta was not able to hide her disappointment after hearing the news that some of her Senator friends will not support her husband, Senator Francis Pangilinan, for Senate presidency.

In a press conference, the actress said she felt "tampo" over some people, adding that it’s a normal reaction for a wife.

Updates on President Benigno Aquino III's presidency

Her husband was handpicked by President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III to be Liberal Party's bet for the post.

Though she is a bit emotional to Senator Tito Sotto, she noted that she will forever be grateful to him and his family.

Sotto is the wife of Helen Gamboa, the sister of Sharon's mother.

Sotto will not likely give his vote to Pangilinan and instead give his support to other candidate.

The senators will elect their Senate President on July 26 prior the State of the Nation Address of President Aquino.

With all that is happening now, Sharon only wishes to preserve the friendship more than political ambition.

“I don't like people getting hurt just because of politics kasi matatapos at matatapos ang mga termino pero ang pagkakaibigan at magkakamaganak eh forever, yun lang sana maalagaan,” she said. (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
