KUMBIRA, which has become the most notable and finest culinary competition outside of Metro Manila, will again be held in Cagayan de Oro on August 18 to 20 at the Atrium of Limketkai Center.
Kumbira aims to promote healthy competition and camaraderie among the different hotels and restaurants, hotel and restaurant schools, as well as elevating the standards of the culinary industry in the region.
The event, which is being organized annually by the Cagayan de Oro Hotel and Restaurant Association (Cohara), will also feature the various skills, artistry and creativeness of the food and beverage practitioners and students through competitions.
Kumbira is a Visayan word that means a feast or a food festival. Since Kumbira has earned the reputation of being one of the most exciting culinary events in the country, it boasts of a very prestigious roster of judges who take turns in acting as such in the competitions.
As a corollary activity, Kumbira 2010 will also feature a trade exhibit on hotel and restaurant equipment, supplies and services, food Sampling and cooking demonstrations.
