The Pinoy Patriots: Spirit of Volunteerism

UPON the initiative of Congressman Jose S. Cojuangco Jr., we joined the NOYPI AKO Movement.

In April 2010, merging with NAPM Pampanga, we opted to become part of the "UNCLE JOE" Group.

On May 1, 2010, sharing the same ideals and aspirations for the Filipino People, we again, opted to become the "Pinoy Patriots."

On September, 2009 the Pinoy Patriots, as Volunteers and Support Group for the presidential candidacy of Senator Noynoy Aquino, in order to contribute our efforts in our own small ways, we started the campaign at the grassroots level.

On October 3, 2009 the organizing and coordinating office, covered with a "Contract of Lease," starting from October 3, 2009 to September 3, 2010, was set up at No. G/1 Julie's Arcade, Olongapo-Gapan Road, City of San Fernanado, Pampanga.

The campaign operations on the grassroots level, was on a "day to day basis" including Saturdays and Sundays. It actually started from October 2009 until May 8, 2010. It covered grassroots campaigning, PCOS machines inspection, poll watching, securing of Certificates of Canvass, watching the municipal canvassing, as well as, the Provincial Board Canvassing.

Initially, we were furnished some campaign materials from the Noynoy Aquino Headquarters at the Regalia Towers and at the Cinderella Building.

The campaign activities of Pinoy Patriots include:

(a) 11,293 grassroots non-political coordinators were recruited and who signed "Volunteers Sign Up Sheets." The response of the volunteers was very significant because we were able to have political access to all the 538 barangays of Pampanga. Coordination was efficiency effected with political, apolitical and allied groups because we were working mainly for President Noynoy, thus, avoiding conflicts with leaders of the different political parties, who are, in most instances, only working for their respective local candidates.

(b) To streamline the campaign operations in the whole Province, we obtained needed data, such as:

(b-1) total population by Province, in the City, Municipality and Barangay:

As of August 1, 2007, including the fact that Pampanga has a population of 1,911,951.

(b-2) The "Total number of Registered Voters per District", indicating that the 1st District has 302,472 registered voters; the 2nd District has 277,825, the 3rd District has 315,030; and the 4th has 321,356 registered voters.

(b-3) the "Total number of Barangays involved in the two cities and twenty (20) Municipalities, including that there are 538 Barangays in Pampanga.

(c) "NOYNOY AQUINO 2010 streamers were posted along McArthur Highway and Olangapo Gapan Road, such that, they were easily viewed by people traveling to Angeles City ,Tarlac, Zambales, Bataan and Nueva Ecija.

(d) "NINOY AQUINO" and "President Cory" flying streamers were posted, next to Mayor Alfredo Lim of Manila, that contained the following text:

"Filipino Are Worth Dying For" and "Maraming Salamat Po Pres. Cory

Sa Makasaysayang, Marangal, Malinis at matapat na paglilingkod sa Mahal nating Bansang Pilipinas"

(e) Caused the printing of leaflets and stickers, as follows:

NOYNOY AQUINO 2010 and "KUYA NOYNOY IS THE REAL DEAL!"

(f) Caused the Printing and distribution of Xerox copies of

"NOYPI AKO:" NOYNOY AQUINO for Presidential Initiative SAMA NA SA MAKASAYSAYAN, TUNAY NA PAGBABAGO!"

"NOYPI AKO:" Noynoy for President Initiative TAYO NA-SA TUNAY NA PAGBABAGO!"

"NOYPI AKO:" Noynoy for President Initiative PIRMA NA-SA TUNAY NA PAGBABAGO!"

(g) Coordinated with political and apolitical groups, as follows:

(g-1) participated in the launching of NAPM-NOYPI Support Groups- November 23, 2009, at the Pampanga Convention Center, San Fernando Pampanga.

(g-2) participated in AYOS NA Movement, headed by Dingdong Dantes, on January 16, 2010, at the Fortune restaurant, City of San Fernando Pampanga.

(g-3)Participated in the Forum for Noynoy for President Movement on April 30, 2010 at the Fortune Restaurant, City of San Fernando, Pampanga. In this Forum, sponsored by Roy Sangil, the following delivered messages, to wit: Ms. Shalani Soledad, Ms. Mickey Cojuangco-Jaworski, and Atty. Eligio P. Mallari.

On January 25,2010,as a sign of love and respect for President Cory C. Aquino, on her birthday, we offered mass in 17 churches in the entire Province of Pampanga.

The merger

In April 2010, to have smooth and effective coordination and much faster action, the Executive teams of the two Groups merged. The two groups chose their Chief Operations Officer and Co-Chief Operations Officer; the Co-Chief Operations Officers concentrated more in Angeles City, Mabalacat and Magalang. The other parts of Pampanga were effectively handled by the Chief Operations Officer.

Other activities

In early November 2009, we facilitated the unity meeting between the leaders of Mabalacat Aeta Association, led by Roberto Serrano, and the Bamban Aeta Tribal Association, led by Oscar Rivera, that resolved their differences and agreed to work for the candidacy of President Noynoy Aquino.

On April 23, 2010, we hosted the meeting of the Barangay Captains in the Mabalacat. The participants agreed to support the candidacy of President Noynoy Aquino.

On April 30, 2010, the Councilmen's League of Mabalacat, led by CLOM president Antonio Dizon, convened at the Villa Rivera Compound. Atty. Eligio P. Mallari delivered a message emphasizing that "we are working for Presidential Candidate Noynoy Aquino under the umbrella of "Uncle Joe," and at the end of the meeting the group agreed to change their Support from Gibo Teodoro to Presidential Candidate NOYNOY AQUINO.

From May 7-10, 2010, we distributed Citizens Crime Watch ID Cards to our coordinators, to monitor the election activities and extend the needed protection for the votes of Presidential candidate Noynoy Aquino.

Citizens Crime Watch

To work towards the protection of the votes of NOYNOY AQUINO, Atty. Mallari was appointed Regional Coordinator-Region 3 and Gerald John D. Quiwa, as Provincial Coordinator, of the Citizens Crime Watch (CCW), an organization registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission under SEC. REG. No. AN093-01880, dated April 26, 1983.

In turn, Regional Coordinator Mallari appointed Provincial Coordinators for Bataan, Tarlac and Nueva Ecija.

More than 10,000 IDs were issued to the Coordinators prior to the May 10, 2010 national and local elections.

While these Pinoy Patriots Volunteers assert that they worked hard for the candidacy for President of then Senator Noynoy Aquino, they do not claim all the credit. They just are emphasizing the fact that they belong to the genuine class of volunteers who volunteered their services for free for the good of the country, firmly believing that President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III will truly lead the Filipino people under a regime of truth and Justice.

These volunteers for the candidacy of Noynoy Aquino for President worked under the Umbrella of the "Pinoy Patriots" group who has genuine ideals and aspirations for the Filipino people. They are supportive of the public statements of now President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III that "Kung Walang Corrupt, Walang Mahirap" and "There can be no reconciliation without justice."

They belong to the crop of the Filipino People who believe in the Supremacy of the Constitution and the Rule of Law.
