Tabal, Gonzaga win top prizes in Run For Kids 15K

NEW faces ruled the Ayala Business Club of Cebu Inc. Run for Kids with the absence of Simon Losiaboi and Mary Grace delos Santos.

Losiaboi skipped the race because of a foot injury, while delos Santos joined the 34th Milo Marathon Gen. Santos City Leg and their absence paved the way for Jess Gonzaga and Mary Joy Tabal to rule the 15K division.

Gonzaga clocked at 51:14.328 to win the title over Jobert Carolino (52:07.572),and Adonis Singson (54:59.49).

Ramie Lawas (1:00:25.112), Arthur Labor Saveron (1:07:19.342) and Dino Pison (1:08:14.058) also made the top six.

Tabal, who also won the 8K title the other day in the STC run, made it two for two after posting 1:00:36.425 in the women’s division. Madelyn Carter took second with 1:03:07.389. Others in the top five were Christie Sevillano (1:16:33.154), Leonara Villamor (1:20.02.682) and Mary Ann Benedicto (1:22:16.925).

Joel Delposo kept his string of victories in the short distances after ruling the 6K in 20:29.177. Riez Enriquez finished 11 seconds later to take second. Ian Bernido took third place with 20:41.212, while Simon Israel Dignos (22:58.687) and Jerry Laruya (23:19.079) took the fourth and fifth spots.

Joery Lee also secured the top spot in the women’s 6K in 25:46.274, while Crizel Diongson finished almost a minute later for second. Others in the top five were Clarisse Diongson (28:43.885), Mizraym Capampangan (34:08.093) and Cairon Ferguson (34:59.493).
