AT LEAST six foreign provinces and cities confirmed they will join the Cebu Provincial Government’s 441st founding anniversary celebration this August.
They are Nanning City of the Guangxi Autonomous Region, Luang Prabang in Laos, Seam Reap in Cambodia, Gang Won in Korea, Quang Ninh in Vietnam and Sarawak in Indonesia.
They will send delegates to the opening of the One Cebu Expo on Aug. 7.
A 24-member business delegation will also be sent by Nanning City, the biggest foreign delegation for the event.
The visitors will be given complimentary booths to show their products, including textiles from Sarawak.
The celebration will also include an agricultural fair, exhibits, sports tournaments and the Garbo sa Sugbo awards.
Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia said the foreign visitors’ participation signals the provincial officials’ travels and sisterhood bonds are starting to pay off.
“Daghan pang kalingawan (There will be plenty of entertainment),” Capitol consultant Rory Jon Sepulveda said.
