Espina: July escapades

AFTER the tedious Cebu Business Month (CBM) activities, I found time to attend some more relaxing events. What a refreshing relie. The Sunset Cocktail-Dinner Cruise hosted by the Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa (SMRS) brought us to the sun-swept Mactan Channel on board M/S Vianelle, the largest yacht in the country.

PARTY OF FOUR. GM Joachim Schutte, MCE, Nelia G. Neri and Flor Ynclino.

It was smooth sailing as we enjoyed cold juices, wine and canapes. We saw a lot of dolphins, and were awed by the scenic ocean and island landscapes. We had seafood for dinner.

Guests will surely enjoy this amazing cruise, which takes place every Wednesday and Saturday, at 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., with optional dinner at Cowrie Cove for a very affordable rate.

Avatar at SM Imax

Simply fantabulous! After cocktails, some thousand guests were treated to the showing of Avatar at SM Imax Theater. It was a technological miracle right before your eyes.

This hi-tech digital system gave all a delightful viewing where viewers felt they were “in the scenes,” interacting with the characters, an artistic immersion indeed!

Edmund and Shelly’s wedding

My friends Paquito and Zenaida Chua were the jovial parents of Edmund when he exchanged marital vows—held at the Sacred Heart Parish—with Shelly, daughter of Rodolfo and Rosario Ngo.

The festive reception was held at the Grand Convention Center.

Principal sponsors were Consul Antonio Chiu and Dr. Pinky Cuenco; Antonio Chua and Nelia Neri; Bob Gothong and Rosita Ong; Alexander Tanchan and Arlinda Lim; Jaime Ngo and Jessie Cimafranca; Victor Sinco and Rose Garcia; Jose Ng and Katherine Yap; Robert Go and Jenny Ngchee.
