MANILA -- Three members of the impending Communications Group will be holding Cabinet rank.
Former TV anchor Ricky Carandang confirmed Tuesday that he will be included in the Cabinet of President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.
Carandang will be joined by former columnist Herminio Coloma and Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda who will all be members of the Cabinet.
Former TV host and columnist Manolo Quezon III meanwhile was appointed as undersecretary.
Carandang made the confirmation despite pending executive order that will formally establish the reorganized communications department of President Aquino.
The communications group will be divided into two groups: messaging and dissemination.
Carandang will be heading the messaging while Coloma will be in-charge of dissemination.
Lacierda meanwhile will remain as presidential spokesperson but will be under the Communications Group.
Carandang hoped that they will not encounter problems in the Commission on Appointments considering that two officials will be heading only one department. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
