Hedcor launches feeding program

HEDCOR Sibulan Inc. (HSI) launched a feeding program to ensure good nutrition and balanced diet of the pupils of Tudaya Elementary School last July 19.

This two-month feeding program will serve 45-recipient pupils food rich in carbohydrates, protein and calcium, all essential to aid physical and mental growth.

The faculty and parents of Tudaya Elementary School also participated in the preparation and distribution of the meals. Initially, the children's weights were recorded and these will be monitored weekly to determine and assess the overall effect of the project.

"Maayo kaayo ni na programa sa Hedcor kay ang mga bata diri kailangan kaayo ni nila. Nagpasalamat mi na more than 20% sa mga students ang recipients aning programa (This is really a noble project of Hedcor since these kids are in need of this feeding program. We are very thankful that more than 20 percent of the students are the recipients of this program)," said Education supervisor Christopher Felipe of the Department of Education Davao del Sur Division.

Hedcor vice president for Business Development Gregorio Jabonillo also emphasized the positive impact of health and proper nutrition on the performance of the students in their academics.

Schools within the barangays hosting the hydropower generating facilities of Hedcor periodically receive grants such as financial assistance to its students, computer donations, funds for construction and refurbishment of school buildings.
