Tito Sotto on Sharon: We’re okay now

SENATOR Tito Sotto cleared the news that his relationship with niece Sharon Cuneta is on the rocks right now because of politics.

The issue stemmed after Sotto refuse to give his vote to Sharon’s husband, Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, for the Senate President post.

Sotto instead chose to support Senator Juan Ponce Enrile

But Pangilinan later decided to withdrew from the race, citing lack of numbers to clinch the Senate presidency.

On Monday (July 26), 17 senators voted Enrile for Senate President.

Sotto meanwhile said he and Sharon were able to talk to each other already and that they are okay right now.

“Nagkakaintindihan kami kasi alam mo naman yun eh pangalawang anak ko at akong pangalawang ama na din naman nya,” he said of the Megastar.

Sotto added that before anything goes out in the media they try to talk to each other because they are one family and it will remain the same.

“Kung magkaroon man ng hinanakit o tampo eh maliwanag na nagkakausap kami agad at nag kakapagpaliwanagan pa naman,” he said.

Sharon aired her disappointment during the press conference of her upcoming "Megadrama" concert to be held at the Araneta Coliseum this August 7.

Sharon said she cannot stop herself to be affected by the issue because they belong to one family.

She knows that her Tito has his own reason in doing so and she respects it.

Sharon believes that their relationship as one family should rise above all the controversies when it comes to politics because blood is still thicker than water.

“Kahit ano naman sabihin… Sharon eh hindi magbabago ang pagmamahal ko sa kanya,” Sotto ended. (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
