LPG prices slashed anew

COOKING gas retailers cut the prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) products early Tuesday to reflect the downtrend prices in the international market.

Arnel Ty, president of the LPG Marketers Association (LPGMA), said his group implemented early a P0.50 per-kilogram roll back.

“The roll back came after the price of raw materials in the international market went down. We will announce soon if there would be more rollbacks,” added Ty.

With this, an ordinary 11-kilogram LPG tank that costs about P542 would be reduced to P536. The group also reduced prices by P0.50 per kilogram last week.

LPGMA wholesalers, refillers, and retailers corner a third of the Luzon market. Its members include Omni Gas, Pinnacle Gas, Regasco Gas, Island Gas, Cat Gas and Nation Gas.

Major LPG players Pilipinas Shell, Petron Corp., and Total Philippines have not yet announced any reduction in the price of their cooking gas products (Shellane, Gasul, and Total Gas, respectively). (Virgil Lopez/Sunnex)
