MANILA—San Beda heavily punished Perpetual Help to enlist a 101-77 blowout victory at the Arena in San Juan Wednesday night.

Six-foot-eight American Sudan Daniel registered the first triple-double in the 86th NCAA men’s basketball tournament after knocking in 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 blocks.

Jaypee Mendoza and Garvo Lanete, on the other hand, teamed up for 33 big points for the Red Lions fifth straight victory in the league.

“Monster game for Sudan. I just hope that he plays like that every game,” said mentor Frankie Lim.

The Mendiola-based squad even managed to spread the lead to 30, 43-73, with 1:43 remaining in the third quarter and never looked back.

“I was afraid that they might come back. They tried to get close going into the fourth quarter but we prevent them. The ball is going around , we share the ball around. We are unselfish,” he said.

Before this game, San Beda holds an impressive 24.5 point winning margin in its first four assignments.
