CSF fetes top taxpayers

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The city government of San Fernando honored on Thursday the city's top taxpayers during the Stakeholder's Day and Recognition of Top Taxpayers ceremony at Heroes Hall.

With the theme “Public-Private Partnership: A Catalyst for Economic Progress,” the city government recognized the stakeholders for paying promptly the right taxes to the government.

"Malaki po ang naitutulong ninyo sa mga proyektong pagpapaunlad ng ating siyudad," said City Treasurer Mary Ann Bautista.

She said that because of the taxpayers’ cooperation and corroboration, the city has now reached a P725-million tax collection, or 56 percent of the P1.3-billion target for this year.

Cited for real property tax payments were Landco Pacific Corporation, Singuian Brother Corporation, S.L., Inc., Tan Song Bok Realty Development Corporation, Melchor and Vilma Caluag, Pampanga's Best, Inc., St. Catherine Realty, Sweet Candy Crystal Integrated Sugar Mills Inc., SMC North Poultry Processing Plant and Interbev Philippines.

Also feted were Sarimanok Feeds Company Inc., Willimson Inc., Universal Robina Corporation, Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines Inc., Luzviminda Landholdings Inc., San Miguel Yamamura Packaging Corporation for Metal Crown Plant, Beverage Packaging Specialist Inc. and SM Prime Holdings.

San Miguel Brewery Corporation received the top real property taxpayer award.

The city also recognized the top payers for business tax which include Mandurriao Star Inc., San Miguel Yamamura Packaging Corporation for Metal Crown Plant and Food Manufacturing, Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines Inc., Zuellig Pharma Corporation, SM Prime Holdings Inc., Manila North Tollways Corporation, Waltermart Supermarket Inc. and San Miguel Brewery Inc.

San Miguel Foods Inc., Mega Asia Bottling Corporation, Cosmos Bottling Corporation, Kareila Management Corporation (S&R), Star Appliances Center Inc., UNAHCO Inc., Coca-Cola FEMSA Philippines Inc., PMFTC, Inc., United Laboratories Inc. The Super Value, Inc. (SM Supermarket) were honored as top business taxpayer awardees.

Single proprietorship business owners were similarly acknowledged for paying their dues. Those cited werer Marilou Espiritu, Josefina Siy, Edgardo Chua, Rico Urquico, Cresencio Gomez, Angel Wojangco, Romeo Sicat, John Darius Villanueva, Gary Laurence Patawaran and Marichu Choi.

Bautista lauded the firms and individuals for being “generous" in paying their taxes, calling them as “bridges" in the development of the City of San Fernando.

"Because of the tax collection, the city did not experience major flooding last year and we were also able to sustain the needed services, may it be medical or others, of the people," she said.

She also noted that on 2014, the city made a history in reaching a billion tax collection.

The city government also gave special awards for top business tax payer in the Old Market to Imelda Sarmiento and Magdalena Siy in the New Market. Quebiawan village also received an award for Top Barangay on Real Property Collection.

Barangay Calulut was recognized as Top Barangay Community Tax Certificate Collector and San Fernando Electic Light and Power Company (SFELPCO) for Top Franchise Taxpayer Award.
