'Wowowee' girls excited with new show

AFTER the announcement made Tuesday evening that "Wowowee" will be replaced by "Pilipinas, Win na Win", hosts Mariel Rodriguez, Valerie Concepcion, and Pokwang are happy to be included in the lineup.

The Corporate Communications of ABS-CBN released the news, saying they will be ending the five-year stint of the noontime show.

Pokwang said they really have no idea on the revamp on programming or if they will still be working with each other.

"Na-surprise din kami kasi nalaman na lang din namin sa TV," she said.

Pokwang, Mariel, and Valerie were a bit emotional knowing that they will end "Wowowee" on Friday without Willie Revillame.

"I will definitely miss it but its time for a new beginning," Valerie said.

The three still recognizes the contributions of "Wowowee" in their careers and will forever be thankful for it.

"Aminin man namin ang laki ng naitulong ng entablado ng programang ito sa pamilya namin at sa sarili namin," Pokwang said.

Valerie added: "I am what I am right now dahil sa Wowowee."

When asked on their expectations of their new show with Queen of all Media Kris Aquino and Bad boy of Philippine movies Robin Padilla, the three couldn't hide their excitement.

"We are all very happy and excited," they said.

Mariel who has been a big fan of Kris since the beginning is excited and very happy to be working with her idol.

"Sobra kaming excited to work with Ate Kris. I am really ecstatic about this kasi si Ate Kris eh sobra nyang bait sa amin kaya naeexcite kami sa gagawin nya sa show," Mariel said.

"Pilipinas, Win na Win" is set to premiere this Saturday, July 31, at exactly 12 noon. (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
