Kris, Robin to replace 'Wowowee'

AFTER a month of not seeing her on the small screen, the Queen of All Media Kris Aquino returns via the upcoming variety show "Pilipinas Win na Win."

Aquino will host the show opposite Robin Padilla, Mariel Rodriguez, Valerie Concepcion, and Pokwang.

"Pilipinas Win na Win" is schedule to air starting Saturday, July 31 on ABS-CBN and will replace "Wowowee".

In a press statement released by the network, the management cleared that they were able to talk to Willie Revillame, the main man of "Wowowee" about the new plan.

They also confirmed that a new show is being cooked up for Willie but the final announcement will be made in time.

Meanwhile, many questioned Kris's comeback on TV after she announced that she will be on a six-year break after the victory of her brother President Benigno Aquino III.

Kris's best friend and manager Boy Abunda cleared the issue Wednesday night and said that Kris will be on break from her "talk shows."

"We didn't say that Kris was retiring. Klaro po yan. Hindi po namin sinabi na si Kris ay iiwan ang telebisyon. Kris has a contract with ABS-CBN and ang sinabi ni Kris ay mayroon siyang dalawang programang iiwanan at ito po ang SNN and The Buzz," he said.

Abunda pointed out that Kris will not be seen only on talk show platforms where she can give opinions and reactions but the actress-TV host is free to do game show, variety or drama.

"It was a sacrifice to leave both shows kahit mabigat sa kanyang puso pero hindi namin sinabi na hindi na sya babalik sa telebisyon. Kaya ito pong pagbabalik ni Kris sa "Pilipinas Win na Win" na isang programa kung saan makakasalamuha niya ang sambayanang Filipino, magbibigay aliw at kasiyahan, ay hindi talk show. Ito po ay game show na variety show kaya dito siya magbabalik," he reiterated.

Abunda also cleared the pregnancy issue of Kris and said that all the stories coming out are not true.

He said Kris went to her ob-gynecologist before she flew to the United States to get her clearance for the cervical ad they are endorsing.

He also shared he was able to talk to Kris when she's in Florida and the host/actress confirmed that she had her period for the month of July.

Abunda said it would be very difficult on Kris's part to get pregnant again after what she experienced during her pregnancy with Baby James.

Kris is expected to break her silence on her marriage with James Yap, her pregnancy rumor, her name being linked to Coco Martin, and her new show on Friday at SNN.

The President's sister and her kids Joshua and Baby James are expected to arrive in Manila on Friday. (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
