CANON Inc., a global leader in digital imaging technology, launched a new line of products.

Bong Serevo, VP for Canon Marketing, said “Canon strives to provide our customers with innovative solutions for all digital imaging and printing needs so this year we are launching these new products for our camera, camcorders and printers which has been getting awards for many years.”

Last March, Canon bagged three awards in the 2009 GFK No.1 Award for being the top selling brand for single-function printer, and citations for being the best-sellers in the digital camera and digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera.

GfK is an international research company that tracks market pulse on consumer technology segments based on actual retails sales statistics collected from retailers and outlet shops.

“As of now our cameras have been getting 23-25 percent of the market share and our EOS DLSR products have been getting a lion’s share of 55 percent,” said Ernalou Amechachurra of the Canon Camera group.

Abigail Engco of the Canon printer group said Canon printer has been getting 36 percent share of the whole printer market in the country for the first quarter.

With 70 years of imaging excellence, Canon’s Digital IXUS line of cameras launched its IXUS 300 HS, which incorporates a 10-megapixel CMOS sensor and DIGIC 4 imaging processor that counters the negative effects of camera shake and minimizes blurring.

The Flash Memory camcorders—VIXIA FS300, VIXIA HF R100 and VIXIA HF M300—boast of their portability and reliability while providing a combination of features in one camcorder.

Agnes Fernando of the Camera group said in a statement that consumers now look for multiple functionalities in a device so Canon came up with this new set of products that allow users to have more features in their camcorders.
