Capitol's water system under repair

PROVINCIAL Administrator Enrique Pinongan said the water system of the provincial capitol building is now under repair, the reason its comfort rooms were temporarily closed until Thursday.

The inconvenience on the water supply started since Tuesday this week due to a defective motor pump that supplies water to the building and to the Provincial Administration Center, Pinongan said.

Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. immediately ordered the replacement of the motor pump.

Pinongan said the purchase of the motor pump was duly accomplished at a cost of more than P200,000 but mechanical trouble hampered the full efficiency of its operation.

While the provincial capitol's water system is under repair, fire trucks from the Bureau of Fire Protection supply the water needs. The Provincial Government pays for the gasoline of the fire trucks. (TED)
