MANILA -- Intramuros neighbors Mapua and Letran will fight tooth-and-nail to boost their respective stocks in the 86th NCAA men’s basketball tournament at the Arena in San Juan City Friday afternoon.

The Cardinals and the Knights are currently in the middle of the pack with 2-2 and 1-3 cards, respectively, and a win by either one would seal it a place inside the magic four.

Game time is set at 2 p.m. as Letran vows rebound after suffering a huge defeat versus archrival San Beda, 60-77, last week.

Meantime, coaches Ato Agustin and Vergel Meneses will relive their PBA days as the former teammates in the 1996-97 season collide in the 4 p.m. main event.

Meneses-mentored Jose Rizal University is eyeing a fourth straight victory against one loss while Agustin’s San Sebastian College tries to join last year’s runner up San Beda on top of the heap with a clean 5-0 slate. (Virgil Lopez/Sunnex)
