V-League: Adamson wins over San Sebastian (3:07 p.m.)

MANILA -- Guest player Nerissa Benting exploded for 21 hits while skipper Angela Benting punched in 13 points to derail San Sebastian’s attempt for a quarterfinals slot Thursday night in the 7th Shakey’s V-League second conference at the Arena in San Juan.

Adamson University controlled the deciding fifth set to enlist a 16-25, 26-24,25-23, 16-25 and 15-10 victory over San Sebastian, which took almost two hours to settle.

The Lady Falcons improved with 3-2 (win-loss) card joining Lyceum of the Philippines University and Far Eastern University.

The Lady Stags, however, still remained on top with a 4-1 record.

Thai import Jeng Bualee delivered a monster performance for coach Roger Gorayeb with 26 points while guest player Suzanne Reyes chipped in 21 hits for the losing cause. (Virgil Lopez/Sunnex)
