AT LEAST 500 registered Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) from different towns in Misamis Oriental gathered Friday for the 36th Nutrition Month culmination program at the Provincial Capitol grounds.

During the activity, the BNS from the different towns in the province were given P2,250 each as part of the P9,000 annual honorarium they would receive from the Provincial Government while the BNS from Gingoog City received P1,000 each.

The Provincial Nutrition Office said only those BNS who submitted their BNS contract and signed by the barangay chairman, mayor and governor received the honorarium.

During Friday’s culmination, outstanding program implementors were also given awards. Among these were the municipality of Opol for Most Outstanding Municipality; Elenida Reyes of Barangay Poblacion in Lugait town as Most Outstanding BNS and Barangay Poblacion in Lugait as the Most Outstanding

Barangay.

Dr. Susan O. Dongallo, chief of the Department of Health (DOH)-Northern Mindanao’s Local Health Support Division, was the guest speaker in Friday’s activity.
