THE regional office of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) is waiting for a circular from its national office about illegal numbers games.
DILG Regional Director Evelyn Trompeta said Secretary Jesse Robredo has made a pronouncement that he will be going after all forms of illegal gambling, including jai alai.
As of this time, we are still waiting for the circular, Trompeta said, adding that she has still to look into this matter in the region.
Reports revealed that the operation of jai alai continues to proliferate in the province despite proclamations by majority of the local chief executives that they are against the operation of illegal numbers games. (Teresa Ellera-Dulla)
